Snyk cut about 203 jobs, around 20% of its workforce, in a June 2026 reduction that its chief executive framed around AI and autonomous agents changing how software is built. The size of the cut only surfaced on 1 October 2026, when Tech.eu reported the accounts Snyk Limited filed at Companies House: "Snyk announced a reduction in force involving approximately 203 employees, representing approximately 20 per cent of the group's total current global workforce to further increase operational efficiencies and streamline expenses." Press reports in June had put the number at about 90. The filing gives the cost as up to $13.8 million and the reason as efficiency and expenses; it does not mention AI. The AI framing comes from chief executive Ken MacAskill's note to customers and partners of 24 June 2026, on Snyk's own site: "The way software gets built is changing faster than at any point in our careers, with AI and autonomous agents writing, deploying, and modifying code, and creating more security problems our customers face right now. So we are organizing to move at that speed, with a more focused team, a clearer mission, and the tools to build faster for you." He went on: "We are simplifying our structure so we can move faster for you, and that includes reducing the size of some teams. We are saying goodbye to colleagues we respect." The note describes AI as the reason the market moved and the company reorganised, with R&D realigned around AI-written code and autonomous agents, not as technology doing the departed employees' work, so this is not an entry in the AI layoffs tracker on this site. Snyk declined to comment to Tech.eu. The accounts also show revenue up 11% to $309 million in 2025 with losses widening to $189 million, and about 990 employees at the end of 2025.
