Estonia Software Development Pipedrive
Pipedrive, the Estonian-founded CRM software company, is cutting 267 jobs in Estonia, 219 in Tallinn and 48 in Tartu, about 70% of its 380 staff there, as part of layoffs across all its locations, ERR News reported on 29 October 2026 from chief executive Paulo Cunha's letter to employees. The group employs nearly 800 people, about half of them in Estonia, and the cuts reach analysts, designers and marketing specialists; Äripäev reported that the Portuguese office is closing. Cunha's letter puts AI at the centre of the story, but on the demand side: more small businesses are asking AI for software recommendations, the free web traffic that drove Pipedrive's growth has fallen sharply, and the paid traffic that replaces it costs more. He wrote that the company needs "a smaller and simpler organisation, focused on fewer priorities and more strongly product-centered", with fewer teams, management layers and offices. He also said the layoffs do not mean AI is being used to cut costs or replace people. Pipedrive says it is building an AI-driven sales system that records sales calls, keeps data current and handles routine tasks for its customers' salespeople. Because the company credits AI with changing how customers find it rather than with doing its employees' work, the job cuts are not counted as AI job losses in the tracker.
