NICE layoffs: the contact-centre software company is cutting about 500 jobs, 5% of staff, to reorganise around customers deploying AI
NICE is cutting about 500 jobs, roughly 5% of its global workforce, and says the layoffs are part of changing how it organises and invests for customers deploying customer-experience AI, Globes reported on 3 November 2026. In its statement the Israeli software company said: "Nice is changing how we organize and invest to meet the needs of customers deploying CX AI at enterprise scale. The plan includes an expected reduction of approximately 5% of our global workforce." It called the decision "necessary to position Nice for the future and deliver on our strategic priorities" and said its immediate priority was to tell the people affected directly and support them.
NICE had 9,626 employees at the end of 2025, up from 8,726 a year earlier, according to its annual report as cited by Globes, so the cut is a little over 5% of that headcount. The company sells contact-centre software, and Globes notes that AI agents able to handle customer-service work on their own have raised questions about demand for traditional contact-centre tools, weighing on NICE's shares, while the company invests in AI products of its own. That analysis is the paper's; NICE's statement does not say that AI is doing the work of the employees it is letting go.
Because NICE ties the job cuts to reorganising around its customers' AI adoption rather than to AI replacing its own staff, they are not counted as AI job losses in the tracker.
