Just Eat Takeaway, Europe's largest food-delivery company by revenue, said on 25 September 2025 that it would reduce its workforce by around 450, less than 5 percent of the group, a spokesperson told Reuters. The company described the cuts as part of a review of its cost base and operations, and Reuters reported it as saying it is "integrating automation and artificial intelligence into its operations, including transitioning manual customer service tasks to automated systems". Dutch wire copy carried the same explanation from a spokesperson: less "manual work" is needed in customer service and sales teams because of AI. About 175 of the jobs were in the Netherlands. The company added that people would not disappear from the process entirely. The attribution here is thinner than in a filing or a signed memo: it comes through a spokesperson and is partly paraphrased. But the employer did name the function, customer service, and did say what replaced it.
