In the employer's own words: said by the head of the consumer bank at the company's investor day. This cut has not happened yet and is not counted in the verified job-loss totals. At JPMorgan Chase's investor day on 19 May 2025, the head of its consumer and community banking business said the operations team was at the tip of the spear in using new AI tools, and that operations headcount, outside home lending, was expected to trend down by about 10% over the next five years or so even as the business grows by more than a quarter. She added that she would take the over on that projection. No headcount figure or cut date was given, and the language describes a gradual decline rather than an announced layoff, so this is a stated expectation running to about 2030, not a round of cuts.
