Adcore has cut 20 jobs, about 25% of its workforce, and its chief executive says AI now handles work that used to need people. In a release on 21 October 2026, the Toronto-listed marketing technology company said it "has implemented a workforce reduction of 20 employees, approximately 25%", cut pay for its chief executive and chief operating officer by 35% and for other executives by 20%, and halved its supplier costs. Chief executive Omri Brill said: "We are also our own best case study: with AI handling work that previously required headcount, we run this business today with fewer people and lower costs than a year ago, while serving our clients at least as well." The job cuts are part of a wider cost reset. Brill said the company decided in September "to stop funding AI development from the operating business" and refocus on its core operation, and the release puts its losses down to "a cost structure built for a growth strategy". Adcore expects to return to operating profit in the fourth quarter of 2026, with the full effect of the programme from early 2027. AI is one reason among several here, but it is counted in the AI layoffs tracker on this site because the employer itself says AI is doing work that previously required staff.
