In the employer's own words: set out by the company in a press release and capital markets day presentation. This cut has not happened yet and is not counted in the verified job-loss totals. At its capital markets day on 27 February 2026, Proximus set out a plan to bring internal headcount at Proximus SA down from about 7,900 full-time equivalents in 2025 to about 6,700 by 2030. The company's own presentation says AI removes manual work at scale and materially reduces workload, and describes the reduction as coming from natural attrition and enabled by AI adoption. Its press release the same day says Proximus will focus on efficiency through simplification and AI, driving workload reductions. Most of the reduction is to come from not refilling jobs: about 800 retirements are expected by 2030, and only one in three leavers is to be replaced in non-sales functions. Simplification is named alongside AI, and some external work is moving to lower-cost locations, so AI is one cause among several. The target runs to 2030, so most of these jobs have not gone yet.
